# Channel Validator - One Channel Rule Scorecard

Validate channel strategy against Hormozi's One Channel Rule—master one before adding more.

**Core Principle:** "One avatar, one channel, one offer. Master it before you add."

## When This Activates

- User asks "validate my channels"
- User asks "am I on the right platforms"
- User asks "should I focus on X or Y"
- User says "I'm doing X, Y, Z, A, B..."
- User says "nothing is working"
- User mentions being "everywhere"

## The Framework

```
One Channel + One Avatar + One Offer = Mastery → Then Expand
```

### Scoring Dimensions

| Dimension | Weight | What It Measures |
|-----------|--------|------------------|
| Channel Focus | 2x | Focused or spread thin? |
| Channel Mastery | 2x | Mastered primary channel? |
| Avatar Clarity | 1.5x | Crystal clear customer? |
| ROI Awareness | 1.5x | Know what's working? |
| Expansion Readiness | 1x | Ready for channel #2? |

**Max Score:** 100 points

### Rating Scale

| Score | Rating | Verdict |
|-------|--------|---------|
| 85-100 | Focused & Ready | Scale primary, consider expansion |
| 70-84 | Good Focus | Continue mastering, don't add |
| 55-69 | Needs Focus | Cut channels, double down |
| 40-54 | Sprawled | Major consolidation needed |
| 0-39 | Scattered | Stop everything, pick ONE |

## Channel Sprawl Signs

- Active on 5+ platforms
- Adding new channels before mastering any
- "Repurposing content everywhere"
- No channel getting full attention
- Constantly switching strategies

## Focus Test

> If you could only use ONE channel for the next 6 months, which would it be?

If they struggle to answer, focus is the problem.

## Integration

| Skill | When to Use |

| `lead-channel-optimizer` | Optimize chosen channel |
| `traffic-validator` | Validate traffic strategy |

Overview

This skill helps validate and prioritize your marketing channels using the One Channel Rule framework. It scores your current spread across focus, mastery, avatar clarity, ROI awareness, and expansion readiness to give a clear verdict and next steps. Use it to determine whether to consolidate, double down, or scale into additional channels.

How this skill works

The skill assesses five weighted dimensions—Channel Focus, Channel Mastery, Avatar Clarity, ROI Awareness, and Expansion Readiness—to produce a 0–100 score and a clear rating band. It flags channel sprawl indicators, runs a simple focus test, and outputs action-oriented recommendations such as which channels to cut or deepen. Scores map to practical verdicts: scale, continue mastering, cut and double down, consolidate, or stop and choose one.

When to use it

  • You ask 'validate my channels' or 'am I on the right platforms?'
  • You’re active on many platforms and unsure which to prioritize
  • You’re deciding between focusing on channel X or channel Y
  • Lead generation is underperforming and ROI is unclear
  • You suspect you’re spreading resources too thin across channels

Best practices

  • Apply the focus test: pick one channel you could use exclusively for 6 months
  • Measure actual ROI per channel before adding new ones
  • Prioritize avatar clarity—define one primary customer profile first
  • Master one offer on one channel before expanding to a second
  • Use the scorecard regularly (monthly/quarterly) to track progress

Example use cases

  • A startup active on 6 platforms wants to know where to cut back
  • A marketer debating whether to double down on paid ads or organic social
  • An SMB evaluating if it’s ready to scale into a second channel
  • A founder who keeps repurposing content everywhere but sees low traction
  • A growth lead establishing lead-gen priorities for the next quarter

FAQ

How is the final score calculated?

The score sums five dimensions with weights: Channel Focus (2x), Channel Mastery (2x), Avatar Clarity (1.5x), ROI Awareness (1.5x), and Expansion Readiness (1x), normalized to 100.

What if multiple channels show similar ROI?

Choose the channel with clearer audience fit and lower marginal cost to scale; if tied, pick the one easiest to master operationally for 6 months.
