## Tool 1: search_nrds (Newly Registered Domains)

Search for domains registered in the last 1-7 days.

**Endpoint:** `POST https://mcp.domainkits.com/mcp/nrds`

| Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|----------|---------|-------------|
| keyword | string | Yes | - | Search term (a-z, 0-9, hyphen, max 20 chars) |
| days | integer | Yes | - | Lookback: 1-7 days |
| position | string | No | any | `start`, `end`, or `any` |
| tld | string | No | all | Filter: `com`, `net`, `org`, etc. |

**Example:**
```bash
curl -X POST https://mcp.domainkits.com/mcp/nrds \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"search_nrds","arguments":{"keyword":"ai","days":7,"position":"start","tld":"com"}}}'
```

---

## Tool 2: search_ns_reverse (NS Reverse Lookup)

Find gTLD domains hosted on a specific nameserver.

**Endpoint:** `POST https://mcp.domainkits.com/mcp/ns-reverse`

| Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|----------|---------|-------------|
| ns | string | Yes | - | Nameserver hostname (e.g., `ns1.google.com`) |
| tld | string | No | all | Filter: `com`, `net`, `org`, etc. |
| min_len | integer | No | - | Min domain prefix length |
| max_len | integer | No | - | Max domain prefix length |

**Example:**
```bash
curl -X POST https://mcp.domainkits.com/mcp/ns-reverse \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"search_ns_reverse","arguments":{"ns":"ns1.cloudflare.com","tld":"com","min_len":4,"max_len":10}}}'
```

---

## Limits

Overview

This skill is a domain intelligence toolkit for investors, brand protection teams, and researchers. It provides fast searches of newly registered domains (NRDs) by keyword and reverse lookups of domains hosted on a given nameserver. The tools help uncover registration trends, potential brand infringements, and hosting patterns for discovery and due diligence.

How this skill works

The NRDS tool queries domains registered in the past 1–7 days and filters results by keyword position and top-level domain. The NS Reverse tool finds gTLD domains using a specified nameserver and can restrict results by TLD and domain name length. Both endpoints accept JSON POST requests and return small, focused result sets suitable for rapid triage.

When to use it

  • Monitor recent registrations that mimic your brand or product names.
  • Discover potential cybersquatting or phishing domains for takedown decisions.
  • Scout short, brandable domains newly registered for investment opportunities.
  • Map which domains a specific nameserver is hosting for infrastructure research.
  • Quickly screen domain registrations before launching marketing campaigns.

Best practices

  • Search NRDs with concise keywords (letters, digits, hyphen; max 20 chars) and test different position filters: start, end, any.
  • Use a 1–7 day lookback to balance freshness against false positives from registration delays.
  • Filter by TLD when you need focused results (e.g., .com only) to reduce noise.
  • Combine NS reverse with min_len/max_len to find domains of desirable length for portfolio building.
  • Respect rate limits (10 requests/min per IP) and batch queries to avoid throttling.

Example use cases

  • Brand protection team searches NRDs for exact and partial matches to a trademark across .com and .net.
  • Domain investor scans NRDs for 4–7 character names starting with a specific keyword for acquisition opportunities.
  • Security researcher runs NS reverse on a hosting provider nameserver to identify hosted domains involved in abuse.
  • Marketing lead checks recent registrations containing a campaign keyword before launching ads to avoid confusion.
  • Due diligence analyst compiles a short list of new domains on a cluster nameserver to assess third-party risk.

FAQ

What is the lookback window for NRDS?

You can search registrations from the last 1 to 7 days; NRDS data may have a 24–48 hour ingestion delay.

Are there rate limits or result caps?

Yes. The service limits to 10 requests per minute per IP and returns up to 5 domains per response.
