Overview

This skill searches Canva's internal Glean knowledge base for documentation, policies, how-tos, Slack threads, and company information. It helps surface authoritative internal sources so you can answer questions about Canva processes and find relevant conversations. Use it when you need documented context, decision history, or links to original Slack threads and docs.

How this skill works

The skill queries Glean-indexed content (Confluence, Google Drive, Jira, internal sites) using a broad search tool and an AI Q&A tool that returns citations. For Slack threads provide the thread URL and the chat tool will read and summarize the conversation with references back to the thread. Results include links and citations so you can verify and follow up in the source systems.

When to use it

  • Looking up internal policies, procedures, or onboarding guides
  • Finding how-to steps for tooling, deployment, or product workflows
  • Answering questions that require company-specific context or citations
  • Retrieving Slack thread discussions, decisions, or context (provide URL)
  • Locating Jira tickets, design docs, or Confluence pages related to a topic

Best practices

  • Include clear, specific queries (product area, team, or document type) for precise results
  • Provide Slack thread URLs when asking about particular conversations
  • Review returned citations and open original links to confirm context before acting
  • Prefer documented policies over memory; use results as authoritative sources
  • Follow up with the owning team if documents are out of date or unclear

Example use cases

  • Find the onboarding checklist for new product engineers and link the Confluence page
  • Summarize a decision recorded in a Slack thread about a feature rollout (provide URL)
  • Retrieve the latest incident runbook and the related Jira tickets for a production alert
  • Locate the internal design system guidelines and copy the relevant accessibility rules
  • Search for historical documentation on billing policy changes and cite source docs
