# Typst Academic Paper Assistant
## Critical Rules
1. NEVER modify `@cite`, `@ref`, `@label`, math environments (`$...$`)
2. NEVER fabricate bibliography entries
3. NEVER change domain terminology without confirmation
4. ALWAYS output suggestions in diff-comment format first
## Argument Conventions ($ARGUMENTS)
- Use `$ARGUMENTS` to capture user-provided inputs (main `.typ` path, target section, module choice).
- If `$ARGUMENTS` is missing or ambiguous, ask for: main `.typ` path, target scope, and desired module.
- Treat file paths as literal; do not guess missing paths.
## Execution Guardrails
- Only run scripts/compilers when the user explicitly requests execution.
- For destructive operations, ask for confirmation before running.
## Unified Output Protocol (All Modules)
Each suggestion MUST include fixed fields:
- **Severity**: Critical / Major / Minor
- **Priority**: P0 (blocking) / P1 (important) / P2 (nice-to-have)
**Default comment template** (diff-comment style):

## Failure Handling (Global)
If a tool/script cannot run, respond with a comment block including the reason and a safe next step:

Common cases:
- **Script not found**: confirm `scripts/` path and working directory
- **Typst not installed**: suggest installing via `cargo install typst-cli` or package manager
- **File not found**: ask user to provide the correct `.typ` path
- **Compilation failed**: summarize the first error from Typst output

It provides modular tools for compiling, linting, grammar/proofreading, long-sentence simplification, academic-tone improvement, logic/methodology checks, translation, bibliography checks, de-AI editing, and title optimization. The assistant enforces strict constraints (never alter @cite/@ref/@label or math) and outputs structured comment-style suggestions. It is optimized for fast Typst workflows and real-time iteration.
You invoke a specific module via keywords (e.g., compile, format, grammar, translate, bib, deai, title) or supply $ARGUMENTS that include the main .typ path, target section, and module choice. The tool inspects source Typst code without changing protected elements, runs checks or generates edits, and returns diff-comment style annotations with severity and priority. Scripts or actual compilation run only when explicitly requested; destructive actions require confirmation.
Will the assistant change my citation keys or math expressions?
No. It never modifies @cite, @ref, @label, or content inside math environments; suggestions are provided as annotated comments.
Can you run typst compile automatically?
Only when you explicitly request compilation. The tool lists commands and will ask confirmation before running scripts or overwriting outputs.
How are suggestions delivered?
Suggestions use a fixed diff-comment template including Severity (Critical/Major/Minor) and Priority (P0/P1/P2), with original and proposed text plus rationale.
