This MCP server allows your Claude Desktop to integrate with Zerocracy, a platform for automated project management. By configuring your Claude Desktop with this MCP server, you can establish a direct connection to Zerocracy's services.

Installation

To use the Zerocracy MCP server with Claude Desktop, you need to modify your Claude Desktop configuration file. Follow these steps:

  1. First, make sure you have Claude Desktop installed
  2. Locate the claude-desktop-config.json file on your system
  3. Add the following configuration to this file:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "zerocracy": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "zerocracy/zerocracy-mcp-server"
      ],
      "env": {
        "ZEROCRACY_TOKEN": "your-token-here"
      }
    }
  }
}

Getting a Zerocracy Token

You need to replace "your-token-here" with an actual token from Zerocracy:

  1. Visit Zerocracy
  2. Log in to your account
  3. Obtain your personal access token
  4. Replace "your-token-here" with your actual token in the configuration file

Usage

After completing the installation, Claude Desktop will automatically connect to the Zerocracy MCP server when launched. No additional steps are required to enable the integration.

Verifying the Connection

To verify that Claude Desktop is properly connected to the Zerocracy MCP server:

  1. Launch Claude Desktop
  2. Check the console output for any connection messages
  3. Try using Zerocracy-related functions within Claude

Troubleshooting

If you encounter connection issues:

  • Verify your Zerocracy token is correct and not expired
  • Ensure your Claude Desktop is running the latest version
  • Check that the configuration JSON syntax is valid
  • Restart Claude Desktop after making configuration changes

How to add this MCP server to Cursor

There are two ways to add an MCP server to Cursor. The most common way is to add the server globally in the ~/.cursor/mcp.json file so that it is available in all of your projects.

If you only need the server in a single project, you can add it to the project instead by creating or adding it to the .cursor/mcp.json file.

Adding an MCP server to Cursor globally

To add a global MCP server go to Cursor Settings > MCP and click "Add new global MCP server".

When you click that button the ~/.cursor/mcp.json file will be opened and you can add your server like this:

{
    "mcpServers": {
        "cursor-rules-mcp": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "cursor-rules-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}

Adding an MCP server to a project

To add an MCP server to a project you can create a new .cursor/mcp.json file or add it to the existing one. This will look exactly the same as the global MCP server example above.

How to use the MCP server

Once the server is installed, you might need to head back to Settings > MCP and click the refresh button.

The Cursor agent will then be able to see the available tools the added MCP server has available and will call them when it needs to.

You can also explictly ask the agent to use the tool by mentioning the tool name and describing what the function does.
