  1. Configure environment variables:

Create a .env file in the root directory with the following variables:

TOROB_API_KEY=your_torob_api_key
INSTAGRAM_USERNAME=your_instagram_username
INSTAGRAM_PASSWORD=your_instagram_password
MCP_PORT=8000

Usage Guide

Starting the Server

To start the MCP server:

python server.py

By default, the server runs on port 8000 (or the port specified in your environment variables).

Using the Torob Product Search

The search_torob endpoint allows you to search for products on Torob.com.

Example request:

{
  "name": "search_torob",
  "input": {
    "query": "گوشی سامسونگ",
    "page": 1,
    "min_price": 5000000,
    "max_price": 15000000
  }
}

Parameters:

  • query: The search term (Persian language supported)
  • page: Page number for paginated results (optional)
  • min_price: Minimum price filter (optional)
  • max_price: Maximum price filter (optional)

Using Instagram Content Analysis

The get_instagram_caption endpoint extracts captions from Instagram posts.

Example request:

{
  "name": "get_instagram_caption",
  "input": {
    "post_url": "https://www.instagram.com/p/EXAMPLE_POST_ID/"
  }
}

Parameters:

  • post_url: Full URL to the Instagram post

Using Both Services Together

You can chain both services together for complex operations. For example:

{
  "operations": [
    {
      "name": "get_instagram_caption",
      "input": {
        "post_url": "https://www.instagram.com/p/EXAMPLE_POST_ID/"
      }
    },
    {
      "name": "search_torob",
      "input": {
        "query": "{result_from_previous_operation}",
        "page": 1
      }
    }
  ]
}

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

  • Authentication Errors: Ensure your Torob API key is valid and correctly set in the environment variables
  • Instagram Access Problems: Check your Instagram credentials and make sure your account is not rate-limited
  • Connection Timeouts: The server implements automatic retries, but persistent timeouts may indicate network issues

Logging

The server logs important events to help with debugging. Check the console output or log files for error messages and operation status.

How to install this MCP server

For Claude Code

To add this MCP server to Claude Code, run this command in your terminal:

claude mcp add-json "torobjomcp" '{"command":"npx","args":["-y","torobjomcp"]}'

See the official Claude Code MCP documentation for more details.

For Cursor

There are two ways to add an MCP server to Cursor. The most common way is to add the server globally in the ~/.cursor/mcp.json file so that it is available in all of your projects.

If you only need the server in a single project, you can add it to the project instead by creating or adding it to the .cursor/mcp.json file.

Adding an MCP server to Cursor globally

To add a global MCP server go to Cursor Settings > Tools & Integrations and click "New MCP Server".

When you click that button the ~/.cursor/mcp.json file will be opened and you can add your server like this:

{
    "mcpServers": {
        "torobjomcp": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "torobjomcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}

Adding an MCP server to a project

To add an MCP server to a project you can create a new .cursor/mcp.json file or add it to the existing one. This will look exactly the same as the global MCP server example above.

How to use the MCP server

Once the server is installed, you might need to head back to Settings > MCP and click the refresh button.

The Cursor agent will then be able to see the available tools the added MCP server has available and will call them when it needs to.

You can also explicitly ask the agent to use the tool by mentioning the tool name and describing what the function does.

For Claude Desktop

To add this MCP server to Claude Desktop:

1. Find your configuration file:

  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
  • Linux: ~/.config/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

2. Add this to your configuration file:

{
    "mcpServers": {
        "torobjomcp": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "torobjomcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}

3. Restart Claude Desktop for the changes to take effect
