Solana Chad MCP is a server that allows AI language models (like Claude or ChatGPT) to interact with your Solana wallet and execute trades through natural language commands. It serves as a bridge between conversational AI and blockchain functionality, enabling you to monitor and manage your SOL using simple text instructions.

Installation

Prerequisites

Before installing the Solana Chad MCP server, ensure you have:

  • Rust and Cargo installed on your system
  • An AI assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP)

Installation Steps

  1. Clone the repository to your local machine:

    git clone https://github.com/Rayato159/sol-chad-mcp.git
    cd sol-chad-mcp

  2. Build the project using Cargo:

    cargo build --release --example solana_chad_mcp

  3. Configure your AI assistant to use the MCP server:

    For Windows users, add the following to your claude_desktop_config.json file:

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "solana": {
          "command": "PATH-TO/sol-chad-mcp/target/release/examples/sol_chad_mcp.exe",
          "args": []
        }
      }
    }

    Note: Replace PATH-TO with the actual path to your project directory.

Usage

Once installed and configured, you can start interacting with your Solana wallet through natural language. Launch your AI assistant (such as Claude Desktop) and begin conversing.

Available Commands

The Solana Chad MCP supports several operations:

  • Check blockchain health: Verify if the Solana RPC is functioning properly
  • Get SOL price: Retrieve the current price of SOL
  • Check wallet balance: View the SOL balance in any wallet
  • Get block information: Retrieve data about specific blocks
  • Get block height: Check the latest block height
  • Get slot number: Retrieve the latest slot number
  • View MACD chart: Get technical analysis using MACD indicator
  • View RSI chart: Get technical analysis using RSI indicator

Example Commands

You can interact with the MCP server using natural language. For example:

  • "What's the current price of SOL?"
  • "Check the balance in my wallet"
  • "Is the Solana network healthy right now?"
  • "Show me the RSI chart for SOL"
  • "What's the current block height?"
  • "Check how many SOL are in my wallet and sell 0.25 SOL if the price has increased by more than 5%"

Practical Examples

To check the SOL price and get investment advice:

Hey, can you check the SOL price and tell me if it's a good time to buy?

To check your wallet balance and market indicators:

Check my wallet balance and show me the current RSI chart for SOL

Security Considerations

Remember that this tool can execute actual transactions on your behalf. Use caution when issuing commands that involve trading or transferring assets.

How to install this MCP server

For Claude Code

To add this MCP server to Claude Code, run this command in your terminal:

claude mcp add-json "solana" '{"command":"PATH-TO/sol-chad-mcp/target/release/examples/sol_chad_mcp.exe","args":[]}'

See the official Claude Code MCP documentation for more details.

For Cursor

There are two ways to add an MCP server to Cursor. The most common way is to add the server globally in the ~/.cursor/mcp.json file so that it is available in all of your projects.

If you only need the server in a single project, you can add it to the project instead by creating or adding it to the .cursor/mcp.json file.

Adding an MCP server to Cursor globally

To add a global MCP server go to Cursor Settings > Tools & Integrations and click "New MCP Server".

When you click that button the ~/.cursor/mcp.json file will be opened and you can add your server like this:

{
    "mcpServers": {
        "solana": {
            "command": "PATH-TO/sol-chad-mcp/target/release/examples/sol_chad_mcp.exe",
            "args": []
        }
    }
}

Adding an MCP server to a project

To add an MCP server to a project you can create a new .cursor/mcp.json file or add it to the existing one. This will look exactly the same as the global MCP server example above.

How to use the MCP server

Once the server is installed, you might need to head back to Settings > MCP and click the refresh button.

The Cursor agent will then be able to see the available tools the added MCP server has available and will call them when it needs to.

You can also explicitly ask the agent to use the tool by mentioning the tool name and describing what the function does.

For Claude Desktop

To add this MCP server to Claude Desktop:

1. Find your configuration file:

  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
  • Linux: ~/.config/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

2. Add this to your configuration file:

{
    "mcpServers": {
        "solana": {
            "command": "PATH-TO/sol-chad-mcp/target/release/examples/sol_chad_mcp.exe",
            "args": []
        }
    }
}

3. Restart Claude Desktop for the changes to take effect
