This MCP server offers powerful tools for cryptocurrency research and Ethereum-based automation, connecting with Claude Desktop, Cursor, and other MCP-friendly applications to provide seamless blockchain interaction capabilities.

Features

  • Connect to multiple networks (Ethereum, Optimism, Arbitrum & Polygon)
  • Interact with DeFi protocols (Aave, DEXs, etc.)
  • Look up ENS domains
  • Transfer tokens
  • Perform security checks
  • Access crypto news and market data

Installation

Setup with Claude Desktop

Add the Agentek MCP server to your Claude Desktop configuration by modifying the claude_desktop_config.json file:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "agentek": {
      "command": "pnpx",
      "args": [
        "@agentek/mcp-server"
      ],
      "env": {
        "ACCOUNT": "YOUR_ETHEREUM_ADDRESS",
        // Optional for transaction capabilities
        // "PRIVATE_KEY": "YOUR_PRIVATE_KEY",

        // Optional API keys for additional features
        "PERPLEXITY_API_KEY": "YOUR_PERPLEXITY_KEY",
        "ZEROX_API": "YOUR_ZEROX_API_KEY",
        "BLOCKSCOUT_API_KEY": "BLOCKSCOUT_API_KEY",
        "TALLY_API_KEY": "TALLY_API_KEY",
        "COINDESK_API_KEY": "COINDESK_API_KEY",
        "COINMARKETCAL_API_KEY": "COINMARKETCAL_API_KEY",
      }
    }
  }
}

Configuration Notes

  • For read-only operations, only the ACCOUNT parameter is required
  • Only add a PRIVATE_KEY if you need to make transactions and understand the security risks
  • Additional API keys are optional and enhance specific functionality

Supported Networks

The following networks are supported out of the box:

  • Ethereum Mainnet
  • Optimism
  • Arbitrum
  • Polygon

Available Tools

Token Operations

  • ERC20 token interactions
  • WETH operations

DeFi Capabilities

  • Trading on decentralized exchanges
  • Lending protocol interactions

Information Tools

  • Block explorer functionality
  • ENS domain lookups
  • Governance tools
  • Security checks

Additional Utilities

  • Basic web tools
  • Market data retrieval
  • Crypto news access

Usage

After installation, the MCP server will be available to Claude Desktop and other MCP-compatible applications. You can interact with the blockchain by asking Claude to:

  • Look up token balances
  • Check ENS domains
  • Get market prices
  • View DeFi protocol information
  • Execute transactions (if private key is provided)

Note that all operations requiring on-chain transactions will only work if you've provided a private key in the configuration.

How to install this MCP server

For Claude Code

To add this MCP server to Claude Code, run this command in your terminal:

claude mcp add-json "agentek" '{"command":"pnpx","args":["@agentek/mcp-server"],"env":{"ACCOUNT":"YOUR_ETHEREUM_ADDRESS"}}'

See the official Claude Code MCP documentation for more details.

For Cursor

There are two ways to add an MCP server to Cursor. The most common way is to add the server globally in the ~/.cursor/mcp.json file so that it is available in all of your projects.

If you only need the server in a single project, you can add it to the project instead by creating or adding it to the .cursor/mcp.json file.

Adding an MCP server to Cursor globally

To add a global MCP server go to Cursor Settings > Tools & Integrations and click "New MCP Server".

When you click that button the ~/.cursor/mcp.json file will be opened and you can add your server like this:

{
    "mcpServers": {
        "agentek": {
            "command": "pnpx",
            "args": [
                "@agentek/mcp-server"
            ],
            "env": {
                "ACCOUNT": "YOUR_ETHEREUM_ADDRESS"
            }
        }
    }
}

Adding an MCP server to a project

To add an MCP server to a project you can create a new .cursor/mcp.json file or add it to the existing one. This will look exactly the same as the global MCP server example above.

How to use the MCP server

Once the server is installed, you might need to head back to Settings > MCP and click the refresh button.

The Cursor agent will then be able to see the available tools the added MCP server has available and will call them when it needs to.

You can also explicitly ask the agent to use the tool by mentioning the tool name and describing what the function does.

For Claude Desktop

To add this MCP server to Claude Desktop:

1. Find your configuration file:

  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
  • Linux: ~/.config/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

2. Add this to your configuration file:

{
    "mcpServers": {
        "agentek": {
            "command": "pnpx",
            "args": [
                "@agentek/mcp-server"
            ],
            "env": {
                "ACCOUNT": "YOUR_ETHEREUM_ADDRESS"
            }
        }
    }
}

3. Restart Claude Desktop for the changes to take effect
