This MCP server allows you to interact with LinkedIn feeds and job listings through the Model Context Protocol. It uses an unofficial LinkedIn API client, providing Claude desktop users with tools to browse their LinkedIn feed and search for jobs.
The easiest way to install the LinkedIn MCP server is through Smithery:
npx -y @smithery/cli install mcp-linkedin --client claude
To manually configure the LinkedIn MCP server, add the following to your configuration file:
{
"mcpServers": {
"linkedin": {
"command": "uvx",
"args": ["--from", "git+https://github.com/adhikasp/mcp-linkedin", "mcp-linkedin"],
"env": {
"LINKEDIN_EMAIL": "your_linkedin_email",
"LINKEDIN_PASSWORD": "your_linkedin_password"
}
}
}
}
Be sure to replace your_linkedin_email
and your_linkedin_password
with your actual LinkedIn credentials.
The MCP server can be used with any compatible MCP client, including the command-line client mcp-client-cli
.
To retrieve recent posts from your LinkedIn feed:
llm whats happening in linkedin feed?
This command will:
You can search for jobs on LinkedIn with specific criteria:
llm search for 3 data engineer jobs in jakarta
The server supports passing additional parameters to refine your job search:
You can even combine this with other tools to analyze job listings against your resume:
llm search for data engineer jobs in jakarta. Analyze them against my resume in file resume.md
The MCP server provides a seamless way to interact with LinkedIn data directly through your Claude assistant, making it easy to stay updated on your network and explore job opportunities.
To add this MCP server to Claude Code, run this command in your terminal:
claude mcp add-json "linkedin" '{"command":"uvx","args":["--from","git+https://github.com/adhikasp/mcp-linkedin","mcp-linkedin"],"env":{"LINKEDIN_EMAIL":"your_linkedin_email","LINKEDIN_PASSWORD":"your_linkedin_password"}}'
See the official Claude Code MCP documentation for more details.
There are two ways to add an MCP server to Cursor. The most common way is to add the server globally in the ~/.cursor/mcp.json
file so that it is available in all of your projects.
If you only need the server in a single project, you can add it to the project instead by creating or adding it to the .cursor/mcp.json
file.
To add a global MCP server go to Cursor Settings > Tools & Integrations and click "New MCP Server".
When you click that button the ~/.cursor/mcp.json
file will be opened and you can add your server like this:
{
"mcpServers": {
"linkedin": {
"command": "uvx",
"args": [
"--from",
"git+https://github.com/adhikasp/mcp-linkedin",
"mcp-linkedin"
],
"env": {
"LINKEDIN_EMAIL": "your_linkedin_email",
"LINKEDIN_PASSWORD": "your_linkedin_password"
}
}
}
}
To add an MCP server to a project you can create a new .cursor/mcp.json
file or add it to the existing one. This will look exactly the same as the global MCP server example above.
Once the server is installed, you might need to head back to Settings > MCP and click the refresh button.
The Cursor agent will then be able to see the available tools the added MCP server has available and will call them when it needs to.
You can also explicitly ask the agent to use the tool by mentioning the tool name and describing what the function does.
