Bug Off!
About the Author

Sharon Brinkerhoff

I have always loved stories. When I was a child, I wouldn't ask for just one bedtime story, I would ask for three or five or however many my parents were willing to tell. On summer evenings, I would ask for so many stories my parents' voices would grow hoarse. Sometimes they would fall asleep, but I was always wide awake hoping for yet another enchanting tale. I eventually grew up (more or less) and graduated from the University of California, Irvine. Now I am the one telling the stories, although I must admit I still love to hear them!

About the Illustrator

Pedro Antonio López

Pedro Antonio López was born on September l9th, 1978, in the small town of Santurce, Puerto Rico. Even when he was a child, people around him would notice his innate drawing talent, and his love for art was always plainly evident. It was not until his teen years though that he decided to take his first art class, taught by the renowned Puerto Rican artist, Olga Lang. It was here that he was introduced to, among other things, the art of acrylic and oil painting. Afraid that being an artist would perhaps not be much of a profitable occupation in his homeland, he decided to regard his art as just another one of his hobbies.
Having graduated from high school as an outstanding student, he went on to begin his studies in pre-pharmacy at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. However, his love for the arts proved to be too strong, and, after two years, he decided to seize his dreams and move to Florida to start pursuing his true passion. In 2000 he graduated from Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. Since then he has worked successfully as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer.
